In the beginning of July 2024, a new community initiative, Fambam Friday, was launched. It is a series of open community calls that takes place every Friday in our Telegram group.
Format of #FambamFriday
Hosted by our blockchain OG, Community Coordinator Gnonin, each session features guest speakers from both within and outside the Fambam community, with whom a highly relevant Web3 topic is discussed every week.
Following the panel discussion segment, there will be time for live Q&A where our speakers select some interesting questions from the listeners and answer them. This structure not only ensures that all information is well-embedded to our community members, but also offers an interactive opportunity for everyone to connect with one another at a deeper level.
Before each event ends, the two most creative questions will be chosen and awarded with a cash prize. Then, the fun continues and pushes to new heights with thrill-filled mini games, where 1 USD goes to the winner of each question as a token of appreciation for their time and participation. This is typically when you see hundreds of messages and emojis exploding in the group.
Week 1 Recap — Blockchain Innovations & Why They Matter
In the debut of #FambamFriday, we focused on blockchain innovations and why they are highly important and relevant in both Web3 and the traditional world. Web3 has undeniably evolved dramatically over the past few years, we have come to the point where blockchain-based solutions are getting wide recognition and appreciation from different sectors and industries.
After we presented to the attendees an overview of Fambam, guest speakers of the night were introduced. Yoko and Adeel, both graduates from the inaugural cohort of the Fambam Ambassador Program. They answered all of 5 questions with insightful responses that captivated the listeners. In addition, they answered some of the questions posted in the Telegram group, providing valuable insight out of their rich experiences with blockchain technologies.
Finally, the guess-the-token-ticker game took everyone down the memory lane and saw enthusiastic responses from all attendees that ended the session at a very high note.
Week 2 Recap — Airdrops: the Ins & Outs
The narrative of airdrops in the Web3 space has been gaining traction for months already, becoming a hot topic for both fascination and speculation, reaching those who are not yet in the blockchain space. From the sudden rise of a number of so-called “tap-to-earn” Telegram games, to the emergence of many testnet campaigns, it’s no question that airdrops are rapidly becoming a very influential tool for user onboarding as well as building stronger communities for projects.
In the second edition of #FambamFriday, Yoko, our first Fambam Master, joined as a co-host. The community was represented by Mel and Eynie, and one participant in the ongoing Cohort 2 of Fambam’s Ambassador Program, Kofi. Throughout the discussion, we tackled the big questions surrounding airdrops — how to get started with it, identify the red flags and the green flags, spot potential scams, and many more.
At the end of the event, the attendees were equipped with significant knowledge about airdrops and how they work. They were also reminded that airdrops are not to be taken as a quick money scheme but rather a fun and interactive way to learn and traverse the Web3 world.
